I’m a rookie carsalesperson any advice from veterans in the car sales game?

I’ve got a degree in Marketing. I had a previous job of Direct Sales for a marketing firm. We’d have meetings in the morning before going door to door. We’d congratulate each other on sales, because one person’s success is means everybody in the firm’s success. Now that I’m in the car sales business, I was told it’s a totally different atmosphere. They **** you when you make a sale and no one congratulates you because they see it as you stole their possible commission. I’m entering a different world of sales. I’m no longer with the Marketing firm doing direct sales door to door, I’m selling cars now. Any advice from people who know or do this for a living? Tell me some fundamentals to stick with so I’ll always remember and how I can be successful at what I do.

Develop a thick skin so you don’t mind lying to people and you don’t feel bad about sticking them with payments they really can’t afford.
